It is genuine cowhide wrapped around a cotton core with a seam on the underside. It has a soft suede like finish and is more matte than other flat leathers.
The metal studs are set with prongs and sliders will fit over the studs which have a profile dome.
This measures approximately 5mm x 2mm.
